Anniversary weekend couldn't have come sooner if you ask me.  Racing back into busy work life after a lovely summer break it almost felt like my holiday never happened.  I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling like this.  But the weather has been so stunning reminding us that summer doesn't seem to be going away in a hurry. 
Now I've previously mentioned to you all that I've been trying to spruce up the old body for summer. Unfortunately I must have over-estimated my fitness when I took on the challenge of playing in the curtain raiser game for the Blues Vs the Hurricanes at Mangatainoka recently.  (Hey I only accepted cos I thought I'd get to meet the hot Tui girls).

I played in the Tui invitation team and we were up against the boys from Mangatainoka RFC - many who were from the Linton Army base.  The legendary Colin Meads kicked off the game which started off well for us.  But I think most of our lads got distracted by the four streakers that hit the field (and not "distracted" in a good way - these streakers were a far cry from the chicks that work in the local brewery).  To be fair it was probably our fitness that let us down (and the fact the other team seemed to contain members from the SAS).  But it was still a great game - even though we lost 22-12.

Oh yes we've got a stand at the NZ Beer Festival happening on Saturday 13th February at the Ellerslie Racecourse from 12pm-8.30pm.  We'll be exhibiting all our Sale St brews alongside NZ's other breweries.  If you're there do say hi to the Sale St team.  Our brewer Mike will also be on hand to tell you all about our tasty beers.
