Brew
Starting life sometime around the "mid decade", Sale St Brewing was born out of the love of great beer shared by some friends that had all worked together in breweries at some time or other in the past.
Taking the shell of a Customs Store in Auckland a modest brew house and bar was designed and built from scratch. Putting the collective ideas of the founders together, the brewery was designed with lagers in mind and introduced a number of cutting edge and innovative technologies that would help make a beer unique to the taste buds of New Zealand drinkers.
It is fair to say that we are doing things a little differently with a new beer style in a new brewery but what was also different, is that just like a winery, we wanted the public to come and visit and experience the brewery. Taste, smell & feel the brewery.
So get yourself a beer and sit back and enjoy
Cheers, Luke Dallow
Ponsonby Gold
Ponsonby Gold stands out from the crowd. With a pinch of creativity and a bucket load of conversation, Ponsonby Gold is New Zealand’s first fashionable lager – be seen with a goblet of ponsonby gold – its Beer couture, it is art in a glass. A 5 % golden lager to be enjoyed with friends, that are in the know of course, darling.
Freemans Ale
To take a classic recipe and represent it to the modern man is Freemans Ale.
A 4.5% velvet brew rich in warm hearty undertones, much like an English Dark Ale with notes of chocolate and coffee. Perfect for men who know what they like to drink. No pretenders please – and remember , no-one ever regretted buying quality.
Raspberry Bay Lager
A delicate raspberry aroma, with a punchy raspberry flavour and smooth sweet finish. The brew process is one of cold fermentation, with the raspberry taste being added during cold conditioning to get a smooth clean finish. This beer is especially easy drinking on a long hot summers day.
